Following are the ingredients of Rasa Pachak Yoga or Santata Jwara nashak kashaya mentioned in the treatment of Vishama Jwara in Charak Samhita Chikitsasthana Jwarachikitsit Adhyaya.

1) Kutaj – Kalingaka

  • Botanical Name -Holarrhena antidysentirica
  • Family Name- Apocynaceae
  • Rasa- Tikta, katu, kashaya
  • Virya -Sheeta
  • Vipaka -Katu
  • Guna -Laghu, ruksha
  • Karma -Agnideepana, pachana.
  • Its application lies in digesting Rasagata Ama and Sama Doshas, and pacifying Nirama Doshas through its Tiktarasa. Employed to digest and appease Rasagata Doshas, it finds use in Santata Jvara.

2) Patol Patra – Patol

  • Botanical Name- Tricosanthes dioica
  • Family Name- Cucurbitaceae
  • Rasa- Tikta
  • Virya -Ushna
  • Vipaka -Madhura
  • Guna -Laghu and Snighdha
  • Karma -Patola is useful in Pitta and kahpajvara to digest doshas and to expel and pacify nirama doshas, making it useful in rasagata vishamajvara.

3) Kutki – Katukrohini

  • Botanical Name- Picorrhiza kurrooa
  • Family Name- Scrophulariaceae
  • Rasa -Tikta
  • Virya -Sheeta
  • Vipaka -Katu
  • Guna -Laghu, rukhsha
  • Karma- It has special action in jvara as it is tikta rasa.

  2. Reduces Paanduta (anemia), Strotorodha (clears out body channels).
  3. It is Malanulomak (clears stagnant Mala), Dipan-Pachan (improves digestive fire), normalizes vitiated Kapaha-Pitta Dosha.
  4. Excellent in thyroid disorders.
  5. Reduces RasadhatuVikruti and nourishes Rasa Dhatu.
